ANNUAL GENERAL
MEETING
A special thanks
goes to Stephen Green, the President of Reading RA and a FA Licensed
instructor, for attending as guest speaker. Stephen created some
excellent discussion and debate after providing some controversial
incidents on video. As referees we only have a second or two to make
decisions so it was nice to be able to look back and take minutes to
decide on action sequence.
Stephen also reminded us about the critical words: Careless,
Reckless and Excessive Force when deciding what action to take after
a foul has been committed. Thanks Stephen - your support is much
appreciated!
During the Annual General Meeting Fred Wiltshire pointed out the
outstanding work that Colin and Albert due for the society.
Everyone endorsed this point, noting the continuous energy and
effort both applied throughout the year to ensure our society is
maintained at the highest standard. On behalf of all the members
a special thanks goes to Albert and Colin! |

The Ladies Trophy was also won by an up and coming young referee.
This award went to Hollie Moisey. Both our potential refereeing

Respect the Ref Campaign
Awards 2006-07
At the end of last season our members
decided to award three teams who had shown outstanding good attitude
towards our referees.
Southampton Football League
The award went to Real Way who only collected one caution all season
Southampton & District League
Their award went to Holbury United for Good Secretarial Contact
and good behaviour on the field.
City of Southampton Football
League
The award went to Eastbrook Harriers who had very few offences on
the field of play.
They
were surprised when they received the award at the BAT Club in June.
It was apparent from all three league meetings that
the presentation of this award has enhanced our standing with teams
who were at the meetings. Many passed very complimentary comments
about our local referees. Lets hope that respect continues into this
season
We had several nominations for Tyro Teams. No team
was nominated twice so we are still looking for our first youth team
to receive the award. We look forward to making more awards during
this season. So keep nominating.
